Straight Tooth Premium Spur Gear Shaft for Precision Engineering
Key Design Parameters
The geometry of a spur gear is defined by several critical parameters:
- Module (m): Defines the size of the gear teeth in the metric system. A larger module means a larger tooth size. (Metric Unit: Millimeters (mm)).
- Diametral Pitch (DP): Defines the size of the gear teeth in the imperial system (the number of teeth per inch of pitch diameter). (Imperial Unit: Teeth per inch).
- Pressure Angle: Determines the engagement contact and load-carrying capacity of the gear. Industrial standards are typically $20^\circ$. (Unit: Degrees).
- Pitch Circle: The theoretical reference circle used for calculating gear design and determining the point of engagement.
- Number of Teeth (Z): Determines the speed ratio and torque ratio between two meshing gears. (Unit: Unitless).
